Borghese Logistics hands over the new building for M&G Group in Assen
On Friday 23 December 2022, the key to the new M&G Group building will be handed over by Borghese Logistics, the developer of the building. The other parties involved, Pleijsier Bouw, P3 Logistic Parks, the municipality of Assen, Province of Drenthe, Mies Architectuur, Egeria and M&G Group have been invited to celebrate this memorable event, including a tour of the building.
The building covers an area of approximately 40,000 m2 and the construction took one year in total. It is meant for production, including an extensive R&D section, offices and of course logistics. During the construction, maximum effort was made on sustainability and ecology, something that is entirely in line with the mission and vision of M&G Group. Eric Pans, CEO of M&G Group, said: “We are delighted to receive the key to the beautiful building and we look forward to moving in. We would like to thank everyone who, in any way, contributed to the construction and realization of this building. We are proud that it fully matches our mission and vision, in which we strive for a sustainable and comfortable living environment for everyone. With this building we are taking a fantastic step in that direction!”
“This development is a showcase for the construction of energy-efficient and nature-inclusive distribution centres,” says Rutger-Jan van Broekhoven, development director at Borghese Logistics. “The integration of the M&G Group production process with the associated warehousing and logistics also shows how all-round and multifunctional the building has become, which we have realized together with M&G Group. With the extensive attention for ecology and energy efficiency, we are convinced that we have given the ultimate interpretation to the ambition of sustainable development, a new construction that will still be relevant for the requirements of the future.”
In the new building aside the A28 in Assen-Zuid, M&G Group brings the production and distribution of flue gas venting, ventilation and heat pump solutions under one roof. The coming year will be dedicated to the relocation of the production lines and offices from the old buildings in Assen and Groningen to the new location.
